With the opening of Bluewater Veterinary Emergency Clinic, we have new options for emergency services.
When our clinic is closed, we use SmartVet for emergency case triage and telehealth services.
Upon your call, a registered veterinary technician will speak with you regarding your pet’s emergency and work with you to decide the best option for care. Depending on the pet’s situation, you may be offered a telehealth appointment with a SmartVet veterinarian, be immediately transferred for in-person care, or offered to have a message sent to us on the next regular work day.
In-person care will depend on the day. Cases requiring emergency care after 4:00 p.m. Monday to Thursday will been seen at the clinic on-call from our existing group of partner clinics: ourselves, Kincardine Veterinary Services, Mildmay Veterinary Clinic, Queen Street Veterinary Services, Ripley-Huron Veterinary Clinic, and Walkerton-Hanover Veterinary Clinic.
Clinics rotate on-call coverage for weekday evenings, with the on-call clinic seeing patients from all six member clinics.
On WEEKENDS, in-patient care will be provided by Bluewater Veterinary Emergency Clinic. The clinic is open Friday at 6:00 p.m. until Monday at 6:00 a.m. (or 6:00 a.m. the morning after a statutory holiday).
To reach us after hours, simply call our regular phone line (519-353-4000) where you will reach Smart.Vet.
